Doron’s journey began far from the Finnish snowscapes he now calls home. Born in Yemen and eventually relocating to Israel, near Tel Aviv, Doron’s passion for music was ignited when his brother started guitar lessons. His path took him on a collective journey from serving in the military to embarking on the hippie trail in India. It was there he met a Finnish girl who would navigate him to his future home in Finland. This rich tapestry of cultural and personal experiences is what fuels the authenticity in his music.
Before diving into music full-time, Doron made a significant mark in the culinary world with his Eastern Mediterranean kitchen, Fafas, which expanded rapidly to 42 locations across Europe. This entrepreneurial spirit and passion for creativity are evident in his music. Doron’s songwriting is akin to his culinary artistry – blending ingredients to create something new and tasteful every day. “Every time I need to let something go, especially if I’m feeling down, I grab my guitar and make a song. It helps me think. And that’s why many of my songs are about making changes – changes in myself, my thinking and acting, and also changes I want to see around me,” Doron explains.
The album “Time to Rise” encapsulates this philosophy perfectly. With Marco Kataja’s deft touch in recording and mixing, and a band of talented musicians including Rob Dominis on keyboards, Niklas Mansner on electric guitar, and more, each track feels both meticulously crafted and organically spontaneous.
