The Unique Melodies of Josh Tepper: The Rising Pop Star Out of New York City

Will Lisil 14 November 2023

Coming onto the music scene straight out of New York in the United States is Josh Tepper, a trailblazer in the alternative pop sphere. His artistry and stylistic versatility give him a unique vibe that is profoundly intriguing.

His grounded approach to music draws parallels with the likes of artists such as Radiohead and The Black Keys. His craftsmanship reflects an amalgamation of soul rock and alt-rock pop that splendidly captures the essence of his creative prowess.

Treading a path that has rarely been ventured, Josh Tepper’s music echoes a breathtaking fusion of the contemporary soul and a touch of cinematic flair. His recently released single, “Eyes of Jezebel” mesmerizes the listener with its delicate interweaving of soft-rock elements and heartfelt male vocals. This soul-stirring combo forms a significant cornerstone of the easy-listening music genre and takes it to newer heights. The tranquillity encapsulated within this track is undeniably relaxing and oozes an irresistible charm.

JOSH TEPPER releasing Eyes of Jezebel

“Eyes of Jezebel” captures the essence perfectly; it’s a banger but with a difference. The commercial pop vibe, set against the backdrop of deeply moving lyrics, is highly expressive. In Tepper’s words, “It’s a song that spills the truth, exposing the soul through the sound.” This quote summarises the profound impact of his music. Remembering the profoundness of Christian artists like Lecrae, his music serves a purpose and silently stirs the soul.

Josh’s innovation sees him crossing borders with his unique blend of singer-songwriter elements, which adds a dash of indie-pop prowess. This hybrid genre boasting rock-pop influences harking back to the likes of Bon Iver is a testament to his virtuosity. The US-based culture and influences are subtly, yet distinctively represented in his music, offering a super catchy track and touches that independent artists seldom command.

Born and bred in the city that never sleeps, New York City, he found his passion for performing early on. Enrolling as a vocal major, he honed his skills at the esteemed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. His pursuit of artistic expertise led him to further his education at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, specializing in Cinema Studies. Apart from his New York City domicile, he shares a unique bond as a twin.

Josh Tepper’s musical journey had him harmonizing with Playboy star Madisyn Shipman in an unforgettable duet. His latest resonating hit “Guide Me Meron” – a Kabbalistic anthem, is reaching hearts across continents and cultures.

His professional endeavours extend beyond just music, having worked with television personality, Kelly Killoren Bensimon from the famed Real Housewives of New York. Josh’s adaptive skills landed him a position at the lifestyle brand goop.com, founded by renowned actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and allowed him to also join hands with the iconic New York fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley.

For those still on the fence, think no more. Visit his BandCamp, follow Josh Tepper on Spotify, and check out his music. His music offers an astounding amalgamation of alternative pop, commercial pop, soft rock elements, and profound lyricism.
