1) RAY VAN D – The Little Girl
If you’re looking for a new artist to check out, we highly recommend Ray Van D. His single “The Little Girl” is a great place to start.
This alternative rock track features cinematic vocals and soft rock instrumentation that gives the song a dreamlike quality. The lyrics are poetic and darkly beautiful—perfect for any moody day in the city or a quiet night at home.
It’s an alt-rock pop track with cinematic influences; it has an orchestral feel to it but still manages to maintain a pop sensibility throughout. The lyrics are poignant and raw as if they were written from experience rather than imagination.
A blend of alt-rock and pop that falls somewhere between Art Rock and Soft Rock. His sound is fresh, fun, and easy to listen to—perfect for those who want something new but don’t want anything too challenging or jarring.

2) MATT DEANGELIS – Can’t Write About Today
Matt DeAngelis is a Singer-Songwriter from New Jersey who has a rich, soulful voice and the ability to create music that’s both easy to listen to and heartfelt.
He wrote this song as an expression of the unrest in the world that began during the pandemic but has continued to manifest itself as uncontrolled gun violence, war, and strife among nations, which have continued to manifest throughout the world.
The weather has also become more violent than it used to be–another sign of the times that we live in. It is during one of his all-time low spiritual states that he expresses his utter grief at not even being able to imagine tomorrow’s possibilities, much less write about them.
And yet, realizes that only God can save us from the wrong mindset that we as a race are taking. The song has a classic rock sound with soft vocals that are easy to listen to and feel good about.
If you’re looking for something new and different to add to your playlist this summer (or any time of year), definitely check out Can’t Write About Today by Matt DeAngelis on Spotify, and visit his website! 3) STAY FOR TOMORROW – Kings And Queens (2023 Version)
Stay For Tomorrow is an energetic four-piece alternative rock band from Dunfermline, Scotland, formed in 2018.
With their debut single Kings and Queens, they burst onto the Fife music scene in 2019 with their sound inspired by the likes of Twin Atlantic, Biffy Clyro, and Foo Fighters.
There is nothing more joyful or sad than singing along to King and Queen. It tells the all-too-familiar story of a past relationship and the attempts to rekindle it through the years. How two people can change through the years and are no longer the same people that they used to be?
The track is a classic anthem of the alternative rock genre—it’s got singable melodies and anthemic chords that stick in your head for days. It’s got a classic sound that will appeal to fans of bands like Pearl Jam.

Throughout the lyrics, there is a strong sense of two adrift people finding a way to be together, much like David Gray’s “Back in the World” or Radney Foster’s “Angry Heart.”
The riffs are open and wide, and the foot-stomping rhythms enhance the song’s message of gratitude and openness. The theme: “It’s worth getting lost to be found”

6) LEARNINGTODIVE – Drums Of War (feat. Bravo Bonez)
Bravo Bonez, a multi-instrumentalist, arranger and producer, is releasing the first single “Drums of War” off an upcoming EP that is under the LearningToDive moniker.
The single is scheduled to be released on April 28th, 2023. LearningToDive (LTD) as an identity, focuses on Bravo’s more serious thoughts and perspectives on society and the planet.
The overall vibe of this song is cinematic—it feels like something out of an action movie soundtrack or an indy film soundscape. It’s got some elements of pop music (the catchy melody), but it also has enough darkness to be a rock song.
Distinct from his usual upbeat, retro or lo-fi-focused tones, LTD as an identity explores alternative themes with darker more complex layers. Bravo has always had a rather cynical attitude towards war, and the way populations are manipulated to achieve the aims of small groups of very powerful people.

The song is an expression of being pushed too far, but instead of lashing out, choosing to sing instead: a psychedelic response. I was inspired by the song ‘Porpoise Song’ by The Monkees, and Pink Floyd.
The track is a perfect example of classic rock mixed with dream pop, post-rock, shoegaze and power pop. It’s also got a great retro guitar sound that will make you feel like you’re in Europe at a classic rock concert.
